About

A working product manager writing down what actually holds up in practice.

Bets & Ships exists because most product writing falls into two piles: frameworks with no evidence, and war stories with no transferable lesson. This is an attempt at the middle — specific enough to argue with, general enough to use.

What you’ll find here

  • Discovery — talking to users without leading them.
  • Strategy — prioritisation, roadmaps, and saying no.
  • Metrics — what to measure, and what measuring does to a team.
  • Teams — the human parts nobody writes the framework for.

What you won’t

Growth hacks, certification pitches, or the claim that one framework fixes everything. If a post can’t survive a sceptical engineer reading it over your shoulder, it doesn’t go up.

The name

Every roadmap item is a bet. Some of them ship. The gap between those two sentences is most of the job.

Two posts a week, give or take. The newsletter is the reliable way to catch them, or get in touch if you want to argue with something.
